Well-established general family practice in a mid sized rural town in North Eastern Ontario.
This partially associate driven Dental practice has operated here for over 35 years and has developed a loyal patient following. The practice and building are expansive, covering over 7,500 square feet, on a large lot with lots of parking.
The practice produced over $1,350,000 in the past year, with $500,000 of cash flows to the dentists. This production was based on seeing 2,800 active patients (1,800 in the past 12 months). The production per patient is very low, as in 2021 the vendor suffered a major health issue and was only available to practice for 35 days for that year. He has been able to return to work on a part time basis only. This fact, combined with the challenge to get replacement associates has limited the practices’ ability to achieve its full potential.
The practice is in a small town with limited competition, and plenty of patients. In addition to the local population, the area is a prime summer destination, and the population would expand during summer months. While the practice has the capacity to grow, the current layout of 10 operatories, combined with the size of the building, gives the new owner some additional flexibility. If the new owner wishes, there is the potential of removing some operatories to possibly add another synergistic commercial tenant.
Due to the ongoing health related issues, the dentist has recognized that he cannot give the practice the attention that it needs, but is willing to associate back for a limited, part time basis to help transition the practice. The practice is a prime example of an amazing country practice, lots of appreciative patients, long term friendly staff, real estate ownership, and a chance to have work life balance.
